Responsible for directing, coordinating, planning, overseeing and performing all tasks and operations at an 8MW hydroelectric power plant on the Housatonic River in Shelton Connecticut.

Salary:

Negotiable and commensurate with background, qualifications, and industry standards.

Work hours:

• 40 hours per week, usually between M-F, 9am-5pm. The plant needs dictate the actual work times however based on needs of the plant therefore no particular days or hours are guaranteed. Uptime is critical.

Essential Functions:

• Operating and maintaining the generating, turbine, electrical, and hydraulic equipment in a manner to achieve optimum generation uptime at all times while assuring safety for yourself and plant operators.
• Assists in maintaining and troubleshooting high and low voltage systems including circuit boards, relays, controls, hydraulics, and mechanical equipment.
• Performs maintenance (including preventative maintenance) of all equipment.
• Manages assistant plant manager and operators.
• Interfaces with the owner to identify and implement projects and maintenance that must be performed.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Experience with using a multimeter.
• Experience in reading electrical drawings (prints).
• Effective communications skills.
• Strong work ethic and proven ability to follow through.
