Responsible for directing, coordinating, planning, overseeing and performing all tasks and operations at an 8MW hydroelectric power plant on the Housatonic River in Shelton Connecticut.
Negotiable and commensurate with background, qualifications, and industry standards.
40 hours per week, usually between M-F, 9am-5pm. The plant needs dictate the actual work times however based on needs of the plant therefore no particular days or hours are guaranteed. Uptime is critical.
Must be proactive, hard-working, detail-oriented, and hands-on.
Operating and maintaining the generating, turbine, electrical, and hydraulic equipment in a manner to achieve optimum generation uptime at all times while assuring safety for yourself and plant operators.
Assists in maintaining and troubleshooting high and low voltage systems including circuit boards, relays, controls, hydraulics, and mechanical equipment.
Performs maintenance (including preventative maintenance) of all equipment.
Manages assistant plant manager and operators.
Interfaces with the owner to identify and implement projects and maintenance that must be performed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
Experience with using a multimeter.
Experience in reading electrical drawings (prints).
Effective communications skills.
Strong work ethic and proven ability to follow through.
