Position Information: UC Riverside's Auxiliary Facilities Services is recruiting for multiple, full-time Senior Custodians. The full salary range for the Senior Custodian is $20.05 - $27.51 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
The Sr. Custodian performs a variety of custodial tasks to care, maintain, disinfect, sanitize, and preserve campus facilities. Responsible to clean, dust, strip, wax, sweep, mop, polish, disinfect, sanitize, wash, vacuum, replenish restrooms, and remove refuse/recycling throughout campus facilities, conference rooms, elevators, stairwells, offices, classrooms, laboratories, auditoriums, restrooms, lounges, hallways, residential facilities, exteriors, etc. May work independently or as a part of a team in assigned work areas. Maintains a positive attitude and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students.

High School Diploma Preferred
Experience Requirements
Six months of experience in custodial/housekeeping operations or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Required
Experience in safe use of a wide variety of equipment and machinery common to custodial services including, but not limited to; stripping/buffing machines, vacuums, steam pressure washers, wet/dry shop vacuums, carpet extractors (bonnet, dry, hydro extraction) cleaning machines, raiding flooring cleaning machines, squeegees, brushes, etc. Required
Experience in safe use of cleaning chemicals, their interactions, danger signs and disposal methods. Required
Experience in proper procedures for cleaning and maintaining a variety of floor surfaces including, but not limited to resilient tile floors, carpeted floors and terrazzo floors. Required
Prior experience and ability to prioritizing work orders, routine work, emergency requests, combined with the knowledge to choose the proper materials and equipment to accomplish the work in the most expeditious and safe manner. Preferred
Experience working with a diverse student, staff, faculty and visitor population and ability to provide exemplary customer service. Preferred

Knowledge and ability to use desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices.
Knowledge of UCR/UC policies, procedures and systems.
Ability to read and understand the proper use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Basic knowledge in safe and proper procedures when hazardous materials are suspected; knowledge of safe and proper methods to clean up and dispose of biohazards and chemicals such as rodent droppings, vomit, blood, raw sewage or chemicals.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing areas related to the responsibilities of the job, including SB-198 Illness and Injury Prevention Program (IIPP).
